Words That Actually Work

Writing for veteran-owned government contractors and small businesses

Services

Clear writing for companies that sell to the government, and to the people who serve them.

Every project begins with a conversation about your goals, your audience, and the decision your reader needs to make. Then I write, you review, and we refine until it’s right.

Capability statements

A one-page introduction to your company that agencies and prime contractors can read in under a minute.

Best for: businesses preparing to pursue federal work or refresh outdated materials.
You receive: a one-page statement, ready for design, covering your overview, core competencies, differentiators, past performance, and company data.

Past performance write-ups

Clear, specific accounts of your completed contracts that show evaluators what you delivered.

Best for: proposals, capability packages, and website case studies.
You receive: a written account of each contract with scope, results, and measurable outcomes you provide and verify.

White papers and technical content

In-depth documents that demonstrate your expertise and help buyers understand your approach.

Best for: lead generation, supporting a bid, or building credibility in your field.
You receive: a researched, structured paper written from an interview with your subject-matter expert.

Proposal narrative writing and editing

Writing and editing for proposal sections, tightened for clarity, structure, and alignment with the solicitation.

Best for: teams that have the expertise but need help making it readable and persuasive.
You receive: drafted or edited sections delivered by your deadline. I write and edit; you and your team remain responsible for pricing, compliance, and legal review.

Website copy, blog posts, and newsletters

Content that explains what you do, tells your story, and keeps customers engaged.

Best for: veteran-owned small businesses that want a stronger online presence.
You receive: finished copy in your voice, ready to publish.

Proofreading and research

A careful final read before important documents go out, or reliable research when you need answers fast.

Best for: documents about to be submitted or published, and projects that need background information.
You receive: a corrected document with changes tracked, or a clear summary of findings with sources.

How pricing works

  • Fixed price. You approve the scope and price in writing before work starts.
  • Deposit. A 50% deposit begins the project, and the balance is due on delivery.
  • Revisions. Two rounds of revisions are included. Additional rounds are billed at the hourly rate.
  • Your role. I write and edit. You and your team remain responsible for pricing, compliance, and legal review.

Pilot projects

I’m building my portfolio, so I’m offering three pilot projects to veteran-owned small businesses and government contractors at the pilot prices above. Three spots are available through December 12, 2026. In return, I ask for honest feedback and, if you’re satisfied, a short testimonial.

First drafts arrive in 2 to 4 business days after I receive your materials and deposit; white papers and larger projects are scheduled individually.
